Underestimated Jim Kirk stories

So, I'm pretty depressed, and having some issues... and am in the mood of some low self-esteem!JimKirk fics. Where he is unterestimated, told he is not "good enough". Tearjerkers are more than welcome. Can be slash or gen.

I'm really sorry that you're feeling depressed. I hope that whatever issues you're dealing with will resolve soon. :)

As far as a good fanfic goes, I highly recommend that you read this one. It's got a fantastic plot, lot's of hurt Jim, plenty of hurt/comfort, and it focusus a lot on the friendship between Kirk, Spock, and Jim. Also, the story itself is very inspiring.

I also want to add that the story covers all the tags you mentioned; it deals with Jim's low self-esteem, his past, and has plenty of angst/hurt/comfort, as well as some unexpected turns.

I enjoyed it immensely! I hope that the story will inspire you as much as it did me. :)
