I remember this one fic on ao3 but when I went to look for it I couldn't find it. It took place right after or before Kirk hacked the kobayashi maru at the academy. Spock took him under his wing and worked with him. Then they fell in love and I remember T'Pau came at the end and bonded them and confirmed it.
