Jim being serious and proper

Anyone has recommendations for Jim becoming all serious and proper with the crew instead of his usual jovial self? For example this happens when he overhears the crew commenting that he doesn't behave like a proper captain should or someone else passes a similar comment etc...
Then the crew regrets it when Jim really becomes a serious captain and wishes for the old Jim back?
