Hello,

so I'm quite new to the fandom, yes one of those evil twerps that saw the new movies
first and then worked their way through TOS.

Anyway, hope you can help me out. I'm looking for Spock/Kirk that'll make me cry.
Preferably with a happy end, and hurtingSpock.
I really don't like bottomKirk too much, but needs must, if the story has a Spock that is suffering somehow, or something happens to them (kidnapping, break up, unrequited love..)that'll make the tears come rolling out
...
weird request ..sorry

But I hope somebody knows some good weepy stories

Thanks
Zorya

P.S.: Same goes for Pine/Quinto fics btw
P.P.S: If there's no happy ending please warn me

I'm one of those who would never have seen TOS if not for the reboot too, so you're far from alone. (I'm honestly a bit puzzled by the reaction some TOS fans apparently have to people who has arrived through the Reboot. I've heard a lot about that, but thankfully not experienced it personally. Everyone I'm come across has been super nice and encouraging).
Onwards to your question.

The only one I can think of at the moment is "Day After Forever" (http://ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=2502&warning=1) by CMM . (I usually stay on the fluffier side of things. So I'm a bit unsure how much of a tearjerker this is to you. It is to me.)

But if I may make a recommendation? I don't know if you've come across the K/S Archive (the story I just recced is from there). It has an advanced search (http://ksarchive.com/search.php?searchtype=advanced) function and one of the specifications are "Hurt Spock", that should give you something.

Edit (because I haven't had coffee yet and my brain doesn't work.) The tumblr blog Thesesimplefeels is another good place to find recs. Here's there Hurt Spock (http://thesesimplefeels.tumblr.com/tagged/hurt!spock) tag.

Hope this gives you something.

Ah I see. Me too, I hate unhappy endings. (The only Hurt!Spock fic I ever wrote has a very unhappy ending so I didn't want to rec it).

While not all of these writer's fics are Hurt!Spock but if you are looking for excellent writers I would recommend Museaway (http://archiveofourown.org/users/museaway/pseuds/museaway), Plaidshirtjimkirk (http://archiveofourown.org/users/plaidshirtjimkirk/pseuds/plaidshirtjimkirk) and Obsidianembrace (http://archiveofourown.org/users/obsidianembrace) on AO3 and CCM (http://ksarchive.com/viewuser.php?uid=6505) and Greywolf the Wanderer (http://ksarchive.com/viewuser.php?uid=164) on K/S Archive.

Why not try "The Price" and its MUCH longer sequel "Courts of Honor" by Syn Ferguson? It's TOS, has angsty K/S, a decent plot and a happy ending. It's also one of THE classic (and best!) fics from the fandom, even though it's over 30 years old.

You're welcome, and have fun. (Be aware, though, that the 1st story is rather open-ended; it really needs the sequel to come to a happy conclusion.)

I like sequels so that's fine with me!

:-)

Just FYI, I just took another look, there's some rape (Spock; not between K/S) in the 1st story. Back then, nobody cared much about warnings; I'd assume that the site owners added them, though.

I haven't read the fic in decades (literally), so I forgot all about that, sorry!

honey it's fine! I don't mind reading rape in fan fiction. It happens in real life. I don't mind it as long as it's not glorified, or written to be some kind of fantasy by the author. (which, happens a lot sadly.) I've already started reading it...it's very good. I also feel kind of vintage for reading it because of how old it is. Inside...I'm fangirling because it was one of the first K/S fics! Again! thanks for the rec!

LOL. Okay then ... as for vintage, how much am I dating myself when I confess to having bought (and still owning) the original printed 'zine? *grins*

That's awesome! Can you still buy those zines? I've seen websites advertising them, and honestly...I've looked into it because there are quite a few of them that look like they have promising fics; yet, no way to read them anymore! I'm so jealous of you! in a good way ;)

Some of them you can -- try Agent with Style, for example, but some extremely popular ones were hard to come by aftter the original print run ran out even back then. CoH was one o those; I'm lucky to have got a copy of "The Price and the Prize", but I needed to ask friends to photocopy their 'zine to get hold of CoH. Add to that that everything had to be done via snail mail, and customs would sometimes confiscate adult 'zines for illegal porn if shipped outside the US -- never mind the cost: IIRC, I used to pay ~$20 PER ZINE for airmail shipping to Germany back in the late 70s, and there was always a not-small fee for international money transfers ...

All told, it also took an average of 4 weeks from ordering to delivery. Gotta love the internet! ;-)

Anyway, aside from the nostalgia, sometimes people will sell their collections here on LJ and advertise in this comm; keep your eyes peeled!

There's also this site; no idea how reliable or efficient they are, though. Other than that, check the various ST and/or K/S communities here on LJ.

thanks for the points in direction! 4 weeks would probably be well worth the wait. I know some of them you can get as E-books to which is fantastic.

Quite welcome. I still think, after 30+ years of reading fanfic, that Price/CoH are among the best ANY fandom has to offer.

Glad you like!

sorry, I some how skipped the hurting!Spock and morphed that into hurting!kirk with my last rec.

glad you could finish it, but if you want hurting!spock then see below for my other rec, though there is plenty of H/C for everyone to go around. It might be along your lines more.

Hope you can enjoy and again sorry for not reading closer.

If you wanted a longer fic that certainly has parts that will make you cry but ends in a place that will leave you happy and satisfied, may I recommend this http://anon-j-anon.livejournal.com/30674.html.

Observations by J_Anon. Spirk. Epic slow build. 400+k words. Spock is narrator. Set in AU after first new movie. It is basically everything you could want in a fic. I literally do not have enough words to describe it. It is my standard with which to compare all other fic to. She just justice to everyone on the enterprise. The ending is worth everything.

Here is the quote that originally got me to read:

"Told from Spock’s POV, her Spock voice is simply PERFECT (as is her Jim as well) and she has the ability to say so much with so few words. This fic has reduced me to tears more than once and is a beautiful, very slow building epic romance. If you read nothing else, read this.”

your welcome. I share in good faith though it did eat my life as well. pace yourself with Observations is my best advice. (though I know how hard that is)

Everything in there is art from the length of sentence to grammar style. Even her choice of words show how Spock's thinking changes and if you look carefully you and watch as it evolves slowly over time even if he cannot. Also her use of refrain is magnificent and awe inpiring. "Space is a death" "Space is a miracle" "Entreat me not"

You are in for some good Bones/Spock moments in the next 20 chapters or so and just wait until you get to Kirk Foce. The "Blindness" and her take on the "city on the edge of forever" are my favorite parts.

There are a few chapters that drag in the middle but the story picks up full force for the last stretch. Spock makes brilliant progress but not without difficults and challenges; he makes bold promises in the pages to come and his ability to keep them shall be severly tested.

If you would like to talk about the story as or after you read it then I would love to join you!

I did think of 2 more recs for hurting!spock that are shorter with a higher ratio of hurting!spock to word count raito but perhaps I will hold off and not drown you with fics. Let me know when and if you want 2 more recs.

This is the best written only!bottom!Spock story out there I ever read -

Traitor's son by Raven Knight

Summary:

The Terran Empire responds to a planetary distress signal from Vulcan. Their goal is not to aid, but to enslave the survivors. Captain Pike’s capture leaves his young first officer, James T. Kirk, in command of the ISS Enterprise. As the surviving Vulcans are subdued, one of them catches Kirk’s interest. In that moment, everything changes, and the destiny of the Empire is forever altered.

The story is very real and it hurts and it is fantastically written. It is sometimes dark and sometimes cruel but it is never insensitive. It is so incredible well-written and so thought-through.

It's set in the mirror!verse and it has a lot of hurt!Spock in it. But be warned it contains rape! However the subject is handled with respect.

All the mirror!characters are very multi-layered - her mirror!Kirk is such a grey character and his relationship to Spock is very fascinating. Her Spock is also very unique and well written. And all her characters are very in character!

The author is one of the best authors in the star trek fandom and so is this story one of the best I ever read and I ever will read!

It's a long fic and a WIP and it is simply perfect.

I saw that you're looking for some Pinto ones also! I don't know if it's already been suggested to you or maybe not, but it's a really tear jerker. The author is brilliant. Be warned! Major Character death and it's also bottom Chris (once) and bottom Zach (twice). It can be found here on LJ but I'll give you the link that will lead you to AO3
Entire thing will make you cry(another warning)

Same anon who gave the rec....

No happy ending! Maybe slightly happy (I guess if you squint your eyes and tilt your head), but it's massively heart breaking and again! MAJOR character death. I was in t are before I finished the lovely story and had to read a lot of fluff and schmoop to function without crying in the middle of a lecture or something
