Hello!

I'm new here so I hope I'm doing it right...

I'm looking for a fic I saw on ksarchive but can't find anymore. I only read the summary and I think it was about Spock being injured in some way and not wanting to tell anyone, especially Kirk. Bones knows because he is his physician and wants him to tell Kirk... That's all I can remember sorry... Does anyone know the story I'm talking about?

I'm also looking for any fic with hurt!Spock and protective!Bones. I prefer gen but I read Kirk/Spock and Bones/Spock or Bones/Kirk even, as long as Spock is the main character...

This isn't the fic you're looking for (though I'd be interested in reading that!) But probably the best hurt spock story I can think of that has a protective bones in the beginning is "how we operate" by missbamf. It's WIP but she's been updating weekly since August of last year, and damn, it's extremely angst heavy but probably one of the most realistic handlings of the subject matter, and while both bones and Jim don't know what happened to spock, it's pretty much a given that they will both be protective of spock when they do find out. As I said, in the first arc of the story (the fic is divided into arcs) bones is actually more protective than Jim.

It is k/s though the k/s is not existent right now, and it is tagged for non con (though, it's probably the best handling I've seen of the subject, and she does place warnings in the actual chapter text for people that would rather pass it up.
Hope you find something if that doesn't catch your eye!

Thank you for the link! I already read it, even though I have to admit that I skipped a lot of parts in the second arc but I can't wait for the 3 of them to be reunited!

OMG me too. I'm so happy that there is only one more chapter for arc 2 until that happens. Arc 2 is soooooo effing sad.
I'm also a huge Bones fans, and we just don't get to see him that much in k/s fics being like a friend to both of them. Usually he sides with Jim and Spock is kind of left out. And this story includes him very well. She's told me in comments though that Bones is going to be a big part of Spock's support system in arc 3, and that the actual k/s slash doesn't come till much later because Spock isn't really in a healthy mind state for a relationship like that with Jim. That's another reason why I recommended it since you said you prefer gen and friendship fics. She stressed to me that Jim would definitely be Spock's friend for a while before it escalates, and that bones would be there as well for Spock as a friend. I really like the way she depicted Bones in arc 1, especially with how he was with Spock, and I'm excited to see that again when they're reunited.
Okay, I'm rambling now, haha. Sorry...I get excited about things like this. Anyway, I will be on the lookout for more fics fitting the bill you asked for. Unfortunately, there just aren't a lot of fics with hurt!spock and protective!jim or bones. Like...it's really hard to find them. :(

A Sky of Stars (http://archiveofourown.org/works/2119158/chapters/4623711) by Aconitum Napellus doesn't fit your request perfectly, but it does have hurt!Spock and caring-physician!Bones - this one is gen.
Found (http://archiveofourown.org/works/1732139/chapters/3694106) by the same author is K/S (although there's no sex) but has some of the same hurt!Spock/Bones interaction.
Also, I can second the rec of MissBamf (http://archiveofourown.org/users/MissBAMF/pseuds/MissBAMF) - she does hurt!Spock really well!
And yes, you're doing this right!

OMG, Newaunty! Great recs! Definitely read Aconitum Napellus' work as well. I don't know why I didn't recommend any of her work. I think I was thinking of reboot stuff only, and all of her work is TOS-based, haha. A Sky of Stars is definitely a must if you're wanting protective Bones. I would recommend anything by Aconitum Napellus. In my opinion, her and missbamf write hurt!spock the best in this fandom. They both have a very good handle on the character, and they both include Bones in very satisfying ways.

Also, I would also recommend "The Darkartian Penance" by Aconitum, though it's kind of difficult to find. It's extremely graphic though. A lot of non-con situations, but I found Bones to be very caring in that as well. It's gen...I think. It's been a while since I've read it. But it is graphic. Having said that, if you've read missbamf's perdition part 1, then I think you can read darkartian. They both contain some graphic material.
