AO3 Question

This isn't the usual question posed here, but I figured somebody would know!
What does the little blue padlock next to an author's name on AO3 mean please? I can't find an explanation anywhere on the site!

Possibly that only other (registered) Archive users can access that author's work?

Right - it means that it's a "member's only" story.

It means 'Members Only' so you'd need an account on AO3 to read it, the problem is that they've been having problems with spam accounts so I don't know if they're allowing new people to sign up.

Thank you all - I am a member, so that's not a problem. Probably why I couldn't figure it out, as it didn't seem to affect me.
