Lost fic - k/m + soul bonds or soul mates?

I've committed the cardinal sin of telling myself "eh, it'll be here next time" and NOT bookmarking a great fic I read a while back now that I've been looking for (again) forever!

It was Kirk/McCoy (Academy era but AU) and they were matched upon intake as soul bonds or life bonds or some term I cannot remember. Kirk had hang ups from a bad past relationship that made him skittish of McCoy. I think at one point Kirk broke his hand and wouldn't trust Bones to fix it. There were some pretty dom/sub themes throughout the whole piece.

I thought I found the fic through tumblr, but all my sleuthing hits dead ends. Anyone know what fic I'm talking about?

i know i have read one where jim breaks his hand,i think he breaks items in the medical section of the accademy at night ehilst drunk whilst bones waits for him to chill before he can fix jim up. jim dosen't trust doctors but lets mccoy fix him. it was academy ear but nothing to do with soul bonds, the bad past relationship that made him trusting is with frank. i never save a fic that i have read b/c i am stupid. if this sounds like the one you are looking for i can try and think harder on what that fic was

not going to lie, im happy that is not the fic you want as i dont think i could find it if i wanted too. though i am seriously hoping someone else finds the one you are looking for as i wanna read it bad!
