TOS Accidental bonding fic

Hi All!

I've had this one fic preying on my mind for ages, so I thought I'd come to the experts for help!

It was an accidental bonding fic I read eons ago, that I've never been able to find again. Everything's a bit fuzzy, but I'll put in all the details I remember. It was Kirk/Spock.

They were down on a (tropical?) planet, having drinks in a bar. I think it must have been for shore leave. There was some kind of an explosive device that went off, and it caused some telepathic shrapnel effect. I'm not sure whether or not the explosion was completely telepathic, but Kirk had a badly wounded crewmember he was helping in the wreckage. It was all very dramatic. Somehow, the explosion forced Spock to meld with Kirk and volia! Accidental bonding.

I think the fic continued for quite a while from there. Spock was super dooper embarrassed or worried about the whole thing, and I'm not sure if he told Kirk what was going on. They went back off planet, and there was further drama back on The Enterprise, and Kirk may or may not have been captured by different telepathic aliens. I get pretty fuzzy beyond that point.

I know that it's not much to go on, but any help at all would be appreciated!

Also, recommendations for other TOS accidental bonding fics where Spock is most displeased with himself about it are very welcome!

Hmmm, that sounds like an AOS fic I know, A Second Chance (http://laylafic.livejournal.com/15985.html) by laylafic, though I could be wrong. Hopefully it's the one you're looking for, though! :)
