spock and jim have a daughter

Hey! I've been trying to find this fic for ages, I'm starting to think I dreamt about the whole thing. It's a fic where Jim and Spock accidentally have a daughter (I guess they fell into some sort of alien lake and the baby just... appeared). They're not together and I guess it was a pre stid fic? I remember Winona was in the fic, taking care of the baby. I'm almost sure I read that on livejournal.

Is the falling into an alien lake thing part of the story or a joke, because it's throwing me off? Are they at the Academy or on the Enterprise? Any more specific information would be helpful as I have a few ideas? :-)

hey, sorry for taking so long to answer! the alien lake part wasn't a joke but it's been so long that I'm not sure if I'm actually making it up. I remember it was a short fic that started as pre stid, but it had some stid rewriting as well - like the scene where carol marcus sits between them. a good part was set aboard the enterprise, but at some point they were at jim's apartment in san francisco with winona. she invites spock to spend some time with them in iowa but he declines the invitation and says goodbye to his daughter. I also know they were never together as a couple in the fic.
