Kirk tries to break the bond

I know ive read it before, and loved it... but for the life of me i cant remember anything but part of a scene.

Kirk and Spok are bonded and something happens to make Kirk try to tear out his part of the bond. I remember that the bond was represented as golden light/treads that connected the two of them and it caused a huge amount of pain to try to rip it out, but Jim thought it was for the best?

You guys have always come through for me before, im hoping for another fandom miracle! Thanks for your help!

Thank you! I had a feeling it was kyliselle, but i couldn't remember her name. I'll get back to you on which one it is.

To be honest, I didn't remember her name either, but I have a few of her stories saved to my Kindle. XD So that helped. I hope one it's one of her stories. Both of those had elements to fit our description.
