I wonder if anyone recognises this story? I'm reasonably sure it was on Ao3 and I think was a reboot story. Behind a cut due to adult themes:



Spock gets roofied on shore leave by a woman. But the drug doesn't kick in until he's back on board, and McCoy senses something is wrong so goes to check on him. By then Spock is in a feral almost Pon Farr state, and he sees McCoy as his mate. With a lot of people on shore leave, nobody really notices McCoy is missing until a week later when Kirk and a security team rescue McCoy from Spock's quarters. By then McCoy has endured utter hell, and later finds out he's pregnant. They catch the woman who drugged Spock, but Spock continues to blame himself. McCoy isn't sure if he'll keep the children or not (turns out he is bearing twins) and it isn't helped by the interference of Kirk, Starfleet and Vulcan, all of whom have decided they have a say in what happens to McCoy and / or the children. I remember at one point, when Leonard had decided he was leaving the ship to consider what to do, Kirk stalls Leonard as he knows the ship is about to warp out and when McCoy realises he's trapped he has a panic attack and becomes catatonic and Spock has to mind meld to bring him out of it. In the end he keeps the children, though a problem with a human carrying Vulcan children means he goes into a bad labour early, and takes Spock home with the kids to meet his family. For all that I can't remember if they ended up in a relationship or if it stayed gen but they did end up raising the kids together.

If it helps, there was a backstory about a friend McCoy turns to, another doctor, who had been married to a Vulcan and had a child with him. When he died, Vulcan representatives seized the child and took him away from her. Joanna met and befriended the boy and his mother got him back, with Sarek's help. I think Sarek also looked out for McCoy and they kind of bonded (father in law to son in law sort of) in the story.



The second fic was inspired by the scene in beyond where the alien attack commences, Kirk orders everyone to their posts and Spock escorts McCoy, with a phaser. It really brought out my love of protectiveness, so does anybody know of any fics where Spock does just that? Saves McCoy, takes the lead in a dangerous situation, pushes McCoy to the rear, or chides him for putting himself in danger?
