Spirk, bones has a terminal illness

In this fic, Bones discovers he has some sort of terminal illness modern medicine still cannot cure. Jim is understandably upset, and Spock starts looking for a cure. Jim becomes increasingly touchy/angry/pushes people away/I don't remember exactly, and Spock spends all his time looking for a cure. Eventually they have a fight/breakup, Spock finds the cure, saves Bones, and Jim realizes this is what he was working on all along. This fic has a happy ending, please help me find mine!

it is similar but not this one exactly. thank you for posting this, otherwise i would never have figured out 'xenopolycethemia' or however you spell that
