Kirk reunited with Spock post-Nexus

Okay, my Google-fu has failed. What I remember of the story is that Q directs the Enterprise to a lifepod that contains a Kirk who somehow escaped the Nexus. No one is sure if this is the original Kirk, so Spock is summoned to verify his identity. Once Spock sees him, he goes a little (a lot) nuts, in a possessive mine! kind of way.

vulcan colony fic

I am looking for a fic that has all original characters...it takes place on a planet that has colonists on it and all a set of vulcan colonists were sent there by new vulcan to start a colony.  they were all male vulcans.  the story has a female character in it who is a scientist who is helping a vulcan character as a liason of sorts.  I can't for the life of me remember where I read it.  It was a solid story and had interesting cultural anthro kind of details that I enjoyed.  thanks for the help.
