I'm looking for a A.U. Star Trek: 2009 story where after the situation with Gary Mitchell, Spock is tasked with looking for anyone else who might not be psi-null. He discovers that Lieutenant Jim Kirk has a telepathic ability of persuasion, which he unknowingly uses to get his way.  Spock starts to suspect this at Gary's funeral.

When he confronts Jim, he finds out that the seemly happy go lucky Lieutenant has a huge depth of self-loathing, and all his trips to sickbay after "accidents" on away-missions were failed subconscious suicide attempts. Jim denies this.  I didn't read much further, but that was like the first three chapters. Jim was going to fly a shuttle into a star on a suicide mission to save the ship, and I know the story ended in Kirk/Spock.

I've been looking for days, but I can't find this. I really think it was on LJ.  Does this sound familar to anyone?
Please and thank you!

This is a long fic if I remember correctly and Kirk is eventually attacked by a serial killer and calls out telepathically to Spock Prime who comes to the Enterprise. Ring any bells?

I know there's a fic out there from Tribble!Spock's point of view that happens during the Trouble with Tribbles episode where Spock is a hybrid tribble and and Kirk claims they're a family and brings him food all the time. I can't for the life of me remember where to find it. Does anyone know? I'm sure it's somewhere really obvious and I just missed it, but I really I want to recommend it to my friend!
