Reboot: Kirk/McCoy, Sulu/Chekov, RPS-- general requests

This is a bit of a mix bag, I hope you don't mind. Also, my first post here. I'm figuring it works the same way as the other comms like this, at least I hope! :) All are XI requests.

1) I have recently found the love that is Kirk/McCoy. I'm hoping you can help me find some must reads and fandom classics for them. I've only read a small handful in this pairing, so I really will take anything you can give me! Though, I am not yet big on kink with these two. Rough sex is all good, but please leave out the D/s kinda thing. lol. I'm good with anything from gen to NC-17. I do have a addiction to Academy era and character studies. If you could feed that addiction, I would love you endlessly.

2) My OTP is Sulu/Chekov. I know, I know, it's horrible and mock worthy to a lot of the people in this fandom. I don't care. lol. Anyway, I feel that I may have run my course with fics I have yet to read. Please, please, please! Rec me anything that you love. Because there is a chance I have not read it. A link to a rec list or an author is welcome! I have read just about everything by hollycomb. And if you got a stash of HS AU anywhere... *GRABBY HANDS* I am, as above, addicted to Academy era and character studies as well.

3) For the life of me I have had a hard time finding Karl/John or Chris/John fic. I have looked over the reboot_rpf comm. It just wasn't quite my style. Any rec's for those pairings? Have I missed something?

If I have done this wrong, please let me know! I'm still trying to navigate my way through this fandom. And as I normally have someone to teach me what to do... I'm having to learn all on my own as my flist isn't into Star Trek. Wankers. lol. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Sulu/Checkov is not horrible and mock worthy :P It is as decent pairing as any in this fandom, so don't mind the haters and don't apologize for loving them <3 But more to the point, paytofay has some great HS AU Sulu/Chekov, her masterlist (http://paytofay.livejournal.com/6139.html). As for Kirk/McCoy, kirk_mccoy rec posts could be of help to you and crackenterprise as a whole? Sorry I am not too detailed, still new here.

lol. When I first got into the fandom I got bashed a bit for my Chulu obsession. It threw me for a loop for a while but I've gotten over it. I think it's made my skin a bit thicker when it comes to the pairing and now I just have the indifferent STFU/DIAF attitude toward the haters. *shrugs*

OMG. I actually just re-read one of paytofay's HSAU fics! She is the reason I love them. Cause I really didn't think I would and now I'm an addict!

And you know, I've kinda abused crackenterprise for Sulu/Chekov but not so much for Kirk/McCoy. I should get on that. Thanks for the reminder!

You are wholly not silly, and it DRIVES ME UP A WALL when people bash others for what pairings they like, and make them afraid to enjoy what they enjoy. People whose fandom is hating on stuff should STFU. (I'm cranky today.)

Later on I'm going to go through my files and find you lots of recs, if I get a chance, but off the top of my head I think 6street has written Chekov/Sulu HS AU fic, and echoinautumn has a fic where Chekov and Sulu are in a college fraternity, and canis_takahari has written Kirk/McCoy Academy-era fic I love. Also, thistlerose's Arned With Every Precious Failure" (http://thistlerose.livejournal.com/1153193.html#cutid1) is both an Academy Fic and a character study.

S'okay, be cranky! It drives me nuts, too! I just don't see the point in it. I mean, there are pairings I could care less for (and am aggravated by), but I'm not about to go and bash someone for what they like. It's just not cool. To each their own, right?

If you want an Kirk/McCoy Academy fic, I highly recommend ceres_libera's epic Academy story Switch (http://ceres-libera.livejournal.com/679.html). It is a fantastic fic from McCoy's POV that goes through the three years of Academy and the movie. She does a fabulous job of weaving canon from TOS throughout the story.

Re the rpf requests - I was going to rec the ones you mentioned you'd tried at reboot_rpf but since they're not to your taste, the only other Chris/John fic I know of are by helens78 at Dreamwidth. They're kinkier than the ones at the comm.

Personally, I'm no fan of Chekov/Sulu, so no recs on that front from me (though, really, there's no reason to apologize for liking the pairing!) but if you're still looking for Bones/Jim, here are some of my favorites:

Convergence (http://mijan.livejournal.com/145497.html): This isn't Bones/Jim, exactly, but I think it needs to be mentioned if you're the least bit fond of their characters. Basically, it's a couple of missing scenes from the movie, starting after Pike's delivered Jim his dare and ending after the Starfleet shuttle lands in SF. The sequel And all the king's men (http://mijan.bravehost.com/andallthekingsmen.htm) is also well worth a read.

No-win scenario (http://anne-higgins.livejournal.com/7316.html): Academy years up until the end of the movie. And the revelation of just which no-win scenario the title stands for is like a punch to the gut. (It does have a happy ending).
