Are there any fics where Starfleet helps/encourages the relationship between Kirk and Spock? Not because there is much Awww, they are adorable going around, but something along the line it's necessary for Starfleet to survive - what I mean is for example a meeting in a dark alley from members of Section 32 with the following dialog: You are tellin' me we've changed history 5 times, accused the temporal investigation dudes of messing all up and all the time the key to avoid the destruction of the universe was if Kirk and Spock are screwin' ?
Thanks & Sorry, I've read to much fics lately where starfleet wanted to separate them...

I was just talking with my friend about this. Aside from the happy crack plot bunny we have about Starfleet throwing them a party and Spock wearing a hat with a heart made out of balloons, I am stumped for relevant fic. I do know that in anon_j_anon's Observations, Kirk and Spock were used for PR purposes, which is comparatively better than censuring them.

Yeah, I read your story The Death Trap Test and loved it. It really had me on the edge of my seat. I also read Else Madrids stories recently and it got me thinking ... I know of one fic by lecri (Then Unto You) where Starfleet more or less assists the Vulcans in matchmaking, but that's the only one and it fits just in part for my search. Will check out Observations, thank you for recommending it.

I have something that I'm working on that kind of fits this. It's not a big part of the fic but it's there. Spock plans on leaving to help with the building of Vulcan civilization and Archer (with the help of Spock Prime) realizes how great they could be together, and actively encourages Jim to change Spock's mind.

*points to fic idea* that sounds really interesting! I hope you post it one of these days, because yeah, I haven't been able to find *any* Starfleet-Actively-Encourages K/S. I know I've read some where Starfleet turns a blind eye, and maybe even accepts their relationship, but none I think where Starfleet's like "Hey, you two need to get it on to save the world!"

Yay for interest. And it's pretty much done (as in written not beta'ed), but it's for a BB and I don't think posting is until sometime in September. This isn't so much encouraging K/S as a romantic relationship, but as a good command team.

This isn't for startrekbigbang, but for scifibigbang. It started about a month earlier (that's not to say that I didn't really start until about last week ;) ). I'm doing the STBB with a friend and we're about 12k in.

You might like nahara's They Would Overcome the World (http://thewordtree.livejournal.com/8504.html). It deals with the aftermath of starfleet introducing and then later revoking a law that states all starfleet capitans and first officers must enter an intimate relationship with eachother.
