Vulcans - original characters

Someone gave the the advice to post this request here:

I'm looking for stories that feature non-canon Vulcans. Gen or slash or het doesn't matter to me - I'd just like to read more about them. Canon Vulcans can be in the fic, np, but I'd prefer it if the original character were the main pov or focus.

Pacing the Cage (http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=678&chapter=1) by Jenna Hilary Sinclair features a wonderfully fleshed-out Vulcan female character. Although the story isn't told from her POV, she has a very important part in the story.

faulty memory

Okay this might drive you crazy or else someone might know what I'm talking about and help with a link because my google-fu has failed. There is a series of short stories detailing the rebuilding of Vulcan and the evacuation of the planet. I think the first one actually has the reboot characters (although I might be wrong). I remember there was one where a botanist (? - someone who worked with plants) volunteered to go and help on the new planet. And there was a story (or a couple of stories) told from the POV of a Vulcan space port official who gets off the planet because a black market trader who he'd been trying to catch evacuates people. A school? And then gives the refugees the stuff he had in the hold? Like I said my memory is faulty. I don't read a lot of gen but the subsequent stories were definitely gen even if the first one wasn't. Hopefully someone recognizes from my poor description and helps with a link.

It all comes down to not skimp on tags. I only had one reboot story also tagged "botany", so with you remembering a botanist it only took a few moments to find my link to the series.

Still a wip, and not updated for a while but very, very good is Secret Vulcan Mating Rituals (http://archiveofourown.org/works/50527) by Chase820. Despite Spock being the main focus of the story the original characters are vivid and given lots of room. Also a lot of Vulcan mythology if you like me find that sort of thing intriguing :)

I've got to second the rec for "Secret Vulcan Mating Rituals". The original characters are some of the best I've seen in fanfiction. Chase820 updates regularly every three months or so in huge chunks, 3 or 4 long chapters each update.

Halation Summer (http://3byeol.livejournal.com/628.html#cutid1)by 3byeol has a couple minor original Vulcans.

Also, Chapters 6 through 8 of Atlas (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5344838/1/Atlas)by Angel Baby feature an adorably cute original Vulcan.  I highly recommend this whole story if you haven't read it yet.

You didn't ask specificially for TOS/Reboot fics, so here's a wonderful VOY story for you:

It has a lot of Tuvok, and also a Vulcan OMC for one of the main characters (he happens to be Spock's son, btw)). They're very strong characterisations, and I love that you can feel how different from each other Vulcans can be, not at all one and the same mold.

Tangled Destinies by Keira Marcos has a lot of OC Vulcans woven with canon ones.

The OC Vulcans turn up mostly in the 5th and 6th story in the series but there are mentions of them in earlier stories.

There was another one - and I'm sorry, I can't remember the name - about a vulcan who hires on as a hand on a sailing ship. When I first read it I thought it was an OC, but it was apparently based off of a TOS novel (The Vulcan Academy Murders?).
