I've recently read Far Away, So Close by skyblue_reverie and I really want to find more stories similar to it. Anything featuring undercover missions going right or wrong, "brainwashing", or even a telepath messing with someones head. Not so much mind-melding. Any pairings would be fine.

i'm writing one.
it is a crossover with dune, so benegesserit do the brain washing to Jim who go undercover to vulcan empire with banned surak religion trying to sign for the federation so everybody had emotion he goes as a slave sold for Spock. The mission reach to sarek or t'aau and convince them to sign the treaty
K/S and a lot of things happens no real mind meld until chapter 9 who is not up yet before that is only some poking without to much results, Spock didn't meld with Jim until chapter 9, so no mindmelding involve in the central plot.
