K+S TOS Episode Fic: Where no man has gone before. -- FOUND.

Looking for a particular TOS fic that covered the episode where Enterprise went out to the edge of the galaxy. I think it might have been the first of a slash series.

The only scene I remember clearly is a bridge scene between Kirk, Spock, and Gary Mitchell, where Mitchell is deriding Spock's habit of scientific inquiry because he sent a probe out to an anomaly that wasn't part of the Mission. Kirk is new to the ship, so he spends most of his time observing the dynamic.

I'm also pretty certain that this was party of an epic series on somebody's personal site, not an archive.

I think that's Homerun Part 1 (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4204227/1/Homerun-Part-1-The-Heritage) by AAmuse. There's a scene like that in chapter 2.
