Let me start by saying that I am familiar only with the original Star Trek episodes so I have no idea how much of this story follows canon and how much of it is strictly AU.

I remember several parts of the story clearly, but not the title, or author, and I have a vague feeling it was incomplete. I also think it was probably a Sentinel fusion, with Kirk and Spock as the S/G pair, but I could be wrong about that. If it was a fusion, I likely read it on Keira Marcos' Rough Trade site, but I've looked through the links posted for past stories on that site and didn't find it. (But, not all authors post links to their work once the site is cleared for a new challenge.)

It begins shortly after the Enterprise has been involved in evacuating a large number of Vulcans from their planet (that was, I think, subsequently destroyed in some sort of attack.) At least one other Federation ship was destroyed, most of that crew perished, in the course of the events that led up to or were involved in the evacuation/rescue.

The Enterprise has been sent back to Earth, (or whatever planet the Academy is on) and Kirk offers the use of his private home to Spock and Spock's parents who are on the Enterprise with them. Kirk's home was previously owned by a Vulcan ambassador and Kirk had never changed many of the aspects that had made it Vulcan-friendly such as having a meditation room, and having Vulcan menu items in the kitchen automation.

Kirk and Spock undergo a hostile Review Board inquiry about the destruction of the other ship. One of the members of the Board lost a close relative (son? grandson? nephew?) who was part of the crew, and wants to blame his death on Kirk and Spock's actions.

One part that I distinctly remember is that Kirk discusses with Spock some gossip Spock had been told about how badly Kirk had ended a relationship with a girl in the past, but Kirk explains he dumped her when she tried to lie about using birth control in order to get "accidentally" pregnant by him, when he'd made it clear he wasn't looking for that type of relationship.

I hope this is enough information that someone recognizes it, and could point me where to find it.

From what I can remember, it takes places around the Narada incident and Jim and Spock are not together yet, Jim is in an on/off neglectful relationship with Gary Mitchell at the time. Around/after Nero, Gary comes to see Jim and says, 'Guess who's been assigned to the Enterprise.' Making Jim excited that Gary will be with him on the same ship. While Spock is battling conflicting feelings for Jim. Cue after 'Into Darkness' with Kahn, Spock visits Jim every day realizing that he cares for/loves Jim and is mad for him because Gary barely ever visits him in the hospital. Jim realizes that he is in a toxic relationship with Gary, and does ask him,'Did you get transferred to be on the Enterprise to be with me, or was it because it's the flagship?' Does anyone remember where this story could be?

So, they stop at some Starbase, and Kirk and Spock get together. I remember that Gary Mitchell drugged Jim, with some memory regression thing, he was trying to make Jim remember their relationship at the academy, so Gary could take advantage of him, but he messed up, and Jim had to relive Tarsus IV, also, the planet the Starbase was on had breathable atmosphere, and Gary said something bad about Vulcan and Jim punched him. That's all I can remember.

Looking for a particular TOS fic that covered the episode where Enterprise went out to the edge of the galaxy. I think it might have been the first of a slash series.

The only scene I remember clearly is a bridge scene between Kirk, Spock, and Gary Mitchell, where Mitchell is deriding Spock's habit of scientific inquiry because he sent a probe out to an anomaly that wasn't part of the Mission. Kirk is new to the ship, so he spends most of his time observing the dynamic.

I'm also pretty certain that this was party of an epic series on somebody's personal site, not an archive.

Hi, I'm looking for two Spock-centric fics set pre-series in the TOS universe; featuring a somewhat prejudiced-against-spock!Gary Mitchell

1)  One is set when Captain Kirk has just taken command of the Enterprise, and Gary Mitchell is First Officer.  Mitchell has been assigning Spock to work double shifts against regulations, and generally over-working him; Kirk finds out and fixes it.

2)  The second fic is much longer, set during a classified mission to find a missing scientist/secret weapon.  I think Mitchell was in charge of the mission, and is very disparaging regarding spock's abilities/usefulness.  There are Klingons already on the planet who are also looking for this scientist/weapon.  Spock gets separated/left behind, but ends up sneaking past the Klingons into the station/base to look for info about the scientist, and pieces together what the weapon is/does.  They search some cave systems where the scientist is hiding and eventually find him.  Spock has to reason with the scientist who considers Spock, as a fellow scientist, the only one capable of understanding his dilemma... I think Spock uses a reference to the scientists who created the Atom bomb when persuading the scientist (but I could be mixing that part up with something from one of the ST novels).

Thanks!

edit: found in comments... they are both the same story
