Two specifics and some general... (multiple eras)

1 - There is this specific DS9 fic I can't find, namely because I can't spell the name and google is abandoning me. It's the one where the crew are on the Defiant, one of the Founders messes with it so they end up back in time and Julian is captured by the Nazis and they aren't able to rescue him for what seems like a long time. I keep wanting to spell it Oschweisem but that isn't it, that's just a mix of how I say it in my head and German spelling. Anybody have a link?

2 - There is this TOS fic, original timeline, based after ST:V in which Kirk and Spock end up working on boats with whales and so on, and there's and entire field of people doing this made from... I can't remember if they're empaths or just really good linguists. But they have people who can talk to them and Spock is good at that.



3 - Are there any reboot!Trek (ST:AOS?) fic where the original timeline collides with the new one in some way - either Spock influences future events with what he knows (Dominion, Borg, or anything) or he wasn't the only one to come back in time or.... people start remembering their other lives. Or anything that links the two together. It's been bugging me as the kind of thing I'd love to read but no idea where to find it other than here.


ETA: My primary pairing in TOS, if I'm forced to chose one, is Kirk/Spock and I can't really see either with anyone else in a romantic or sexual way. Though push come to shove, I doubt they have a sexual relationship even though they are T'hy'la, but a lot of that fic as them together in that manner so.... But that's my pairing in regards to them. For others I don't care really.

I think for #2, you're thinking of the latter parts of a series by Rae Trail. The first part is "Out of the Big Black," but the Spock-as-a-whalesong-interpreter stuff starts in the second part onwards, Onto the Deep Blue, Amid the Great Greys, and Beneath the Azure Skies.

Thank you! Just finished reading 'Not All Those Who Wander are Lost' and love it. Probably not what Tolkien had in mind but heck, it fits and I think he'd like it too.

Number 3: Well, there's LOADS of reboot fic that involves Jim suffering from after effects of the mind meld with Spock Prime if that's what you're looking for? These are a couple that jump to mind, but if you go to one of the kirk/spock comms and look for a mind meld tag, there'll be lots of fic.

Jim suffering from the mind meld would fall into it, I've read one or two (which I promptly didn't bookmark, bad me!) and love 'em.


Humour is great, my delivious account has tons and tons of angst in it, mostly mild to be fair, but humour is fantastic when done well. Nothing better than falling out of your chair laughing or having to shut the lid of your laptop because you're shaking from the giggles.
