Hey everyone, I need help finding a fic. I believe it’s academy era, with Jim and Bones being soulmates in some sort of Dom/sub universe? Jim is the sub and he doesn’t want to be bonded but over time he comes to peace with it. It had scenes near the end with them visiting respective parents, with bones dad being the sub partner. Then they visit Jim’s mom to find her being abused by Frank so Bones reports it and saves her. Pretty sure it was a multi-chapter fic and I read it on Ao3. Sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated!!!

A new story posted by a favourite author has made me recall a similar one - Spock is exceptionally friendly towards a male member of a diplomatic party that comes aboard the ship, Kirk is puzzled by this, until he discovers they're old friends - the explanation is that they both got dragged all over the galaxy with their respective ambassadorial fathers as children, and became friends.
Kirk quickly surmises that they're actually lovers (after hearing them in Spock's cabin) and is jealous.
The old flame sees how Kirk and Spock feel about each other, and steps aside so they can be together. I want to say his name might be David, but that could easily be wrong!
I've only been reading fanfic for the last 15 months or so, and would possibly have found it on either AO3 or KSA (but I could be wrong about that too).
Does anyone recognise it? Thanks in advance!
