Hello all,

It is almost December and I am looking for some good Christmas/Winter holiday fics.  I thought perhaps we can exchange some good recs.  I personally like Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Bones or K/S/B.  Though GEN is fine as well.  Any universe.

1) First a happy one!

I've got my love to keep me warm by piesandsouffles on AO3.
Word Count: 31,152
Relationship: Spirk, friends-to-lovers, fluff, cute, gifts
Rating: Teen

Info: "Jim has secured holiday shore leave on Earth - and cajoles Spock into tagging along with him. Christmas-y things ensue, since Spock has never celebrated Christmas before, culminating in a Christmas Eve party with the senior staff that will change everything. This is a story of discovery, belonging, and a love that runs so deep even Vulcan logic is senseless against it."

2) Beautiful, but bitter sweet ending. (you have been warned)

The longest christmas by Brytewolf on A03 and LJ.
Characters: Spock, Kirk AU
Rating: Teen

Info: "The only thing Jim's ever wanted is Spock. But Spock is the one thing he can't have - until a strange visitor grants Jim one wish. Written for K/S Advent on Livejournal."

What stories do you love?

Here's one of my favorite Kirk/Bones series of holiday stories ever:

Holiday (http://archiveofourown.org/series/69188) by Image (http://www.archiveofourown.org/user/klmeri/profile)klmeri (http://www.archiveofourown.org/users/klmeri/).
Word count (for series): 70,969
Rating: T

Info: 'Tis the season, and Christopher Pike had a life. In fact he had an expensive bottle of brandy, a backlog of party invitations, and the attention of the pretty brunette at the opposite end of the bar. These things only served to make his regret infinitely more poignant when he answered a call and was reminded he had something else in his life too: a boy named Jim Kirk. "Hey, Dad," Jim shouted over a racket of noise, "bad news!" ...and it was unfortunate news indeed. Jim was in jail. On Christmas Eve.

Or, the story in which Pike is a saintly Father of Christmas, Jim has fallen in with a gang of elves, and nobody but Jim's best friend is confessing to the crime of who stole the North Star.

Elf in my Bed (http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=5692&index=1) by Fugitive.

TOS, K/S, NC-17, 5247 words.

Jim Kirk wakes up on Christmas morning to find a Vulcan snuggled up to him in his bed. This is, as far as Christmas mornings go, just the best that Jim can ever remember. But there’s one catch: Jim has to figure out how Spock ended up there before the Vulcan melds with him and finds out he can’t remember a thing about their epic first night together!

Thank you! I always forget about K/S Advent - something to hopefully break through my shell of Grinch-ness this year!

I don't actually keep track of Xmas fics enough to rec them! Because they're generally short, & often fluffy, they don't usually make it onto my Deep & Meaningful list for me to keep track of them. Sorry.

OK, you asked for it!

I badly need my own rec list - I've just trawled through my favourites lists on various sites, and there are more I want to add - a chore for the next rainy day, perhaps!

Ok, for Reboot I'd recommend Intimate Knowledge by TDazz - around 100 000 words, post STID, mainly K/S character development, with some Sarek & McCoy (not together!) on the side.
http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=3597

Prequel to it is Comfort Food, a shorter story (around 20 000 words) not necessary to have read it before Intimate Knowledge, but it's enjoyable & it has a lot of Spock angst & characterisation post Vulcan's destruction.
http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=3551&warning=2

Jealous Bone by TDazz, starts out amusing but rapidly turns very serious & angsty - not yet finished but should be soon - until September she was updating often, and I don't think there's much more of it left.
http://ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=6040&warning=1

Anything by TDazz!

Anything by Aconitum Napellus, but especially Taken, Found, Postmortem, A Sky of Stars, Endurance (a WIP, being updated regularly) and a trilogy about blind Spock - Eclipse, Reconciliation and Solution. Hers are all TOS.
https://www.fanfiction.net/u/1647571/Aconitum-Napellus

Also by Aconitum Napellus, under the pen name of WolfsBane, is The Darkartian Penance, a very graphic and angst-ridden tale of Spock imprisoned and horribly abused.
http://fannation.shades-of-moonlight.com/archive/viewuser.php?uid=347

Homecoming and Homecoming II by Beedlebarg, Abrams-verse, slightly angsty in places but a very good read.
http://ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=4527

Not an Island, by fourleggedfish, is a complex, intense fic about Spock developing as a person after the destruction of Vulcan. It's fairly dark and edgy in places, but my biggest warning is that it's unfinished, & likely to remain so. Hasn't been updated for just over a year, and the author pretty much just stopped writing it.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/912684/chapters/1768915

One with MPREG & kids, An Unexpected Journey, by CMM http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=3935
and it's sequel, An Unimagined Destiny, http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=5811
Long, K/S angst, MPREG, cute kid, drama - has it all, and it moves along at a nice pace - easy to stay interested. One of my favourite authors.

So Wise We Grow, by Deastar, is a fic involving Spock's son, excellently written.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/55410/chapters/73479

Problem Child by TDazz, is pretty much the same story but with Kirk's son instead (although with a bit of a twist!)
http://ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=4907

Maybe Once, Maybe Twice, by Regann, is post STID, Kirk centric, currently unfinished but updated last month, so hopefully will be soon.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/1264420/chapters/4841121

Keeping Love series, by mattmetzger is slightly AU but very worth reading.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6852098/1/Keeping-Love

Progression series, also by mattmetzger, is Abrams-verse K/S.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6340093/1/Pain

The Finer Things by IvanW is a WIP being regularly updated, I like it because it draws in plots from TOS and fits them to reboot. Otherwise the summary is self-explanatory, so I'll let you check it out.
http://archiveofourown.org/works/1876518/chapters/4042161

Don't Stop Believing by KianSpo, is not yet finished - don't know if it'll ever be but occasionally she adds another chapter, so hasn't abandoned it completely. One of my absolute favourites for it's detail of Spock's life.
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5423679/1/Don-t-Stop-Believing

Home Also I cannot Go by soonanemone, is also very Spock centric, an MPREG that I find almost believable, and another of my favourites - also unfinished but is slowly being updated still.

I don't know if you're interested in TOS or not - if so, I have a couple of good ones -
Portraits, by Charlotte Frost, is about 80 000 words traversing the journey from Spock's second pon farr through to Kirk & Spock developing a relationship. It's a bit drawn out and let's-analyse-our-emotions-to-death in places, but overall it's a good story. I was captured when I first realised what direction the beginning was taking,
http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=3607

My second rec for TOS is the Sharing the Sunlight series, by Jenna Sinclair. It' comprised of 14 stories, including three that are novella length. The first, Sharing the Sunlight, details the beginnings of the K/S relationship, and the whole series follows through to after the end of the five year mission.
Promises to Keep is especially angsty & detailed. it's probably possible to read some out of context, but they make more sense if you read them in series. Again, they lean a little toward the teenage girl style of romance writing, but it ticks all the boxes for long, intense, plot driven and character development.
http://www.ksarchive.com/viewseries.php?seriesid=12

Puff the Magic Dragon, by test_of_faith, is a short story, 5 000 words, but a nice read. http://www.ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=940

Broken Images, by the late Beverly Sutherland, is TOS where Kirk is accidentally transported to an AU where Spock is the captain - it's currently being uploaded to K/S archive here, http://ksarchive.com/viewstory.php?sid=6137&warning=1
or I have it in a Word document if you'd like it.

Wow - think that's enough?!

Not specifically about the holidays but has lots of warm xmas feels.

Title: $19.95 Soulmate
Rating: R for some smut toward the end

Summary: Written for space_married, in which Jim orders a mail order partner and gets Bones. Needless to say, things get off to a rough start.
