I recently read this fill where Kirk worked in the factory that Khan was in. They were supposedly friends, but then Kirk made a deal with Marcus that he could get Khan to work for him without fighting, and not by threatening his family.

Supposedly, he kills one of Khan's crew members. I remember that Khan ambushed him in his room and told him like 'he liked to play the piano and loved chocolate chip cookies', but then somebody walked in and stopped them before Khan strangled Jim. I haven't been able to find it, but i think it was on AO3.

i'm also on the lookout for any omega!verse stories. particularly omega kirk ones. any recs will be appreciated!

This is definitely an older story, from early on in the reboot fandom. Not sure if it's a short chapter in a longer fic, a side story/sequel in a series, but it definitely had chekov and sulu seconded to another ship for some goodwill/PR/cross training. There was an away mission and Chekhov ended up hacking the con to manage to beam up sulu (irradiated soil and somehow beaming them back not irradiated?) and the captain was all "this is a normal day for you?" and learned respect for those upstart kids. Not sure if it was gen, pre slash or slash but it's been bugging me for days now...

any ideas? I'm almost positive it was one of those longer stories everyone read back in the day (lol) but definitely not Atlas =) thanks!

I can't find a fic I read some time ago. It took place after the reboot film, at least partly on Earth, but I'm not sure if it was before the 5 years mission or during it. All I remember is that the Admiralty made a change to the female uniform (shorter), and of course Uhura and a lot of others didn't like it. What surprised her was that Kirk was ready to help them, going so far as to tell the admirals that he couldn't expect aliens to respect his crew if their commanding officers didn't do it. Help, please?

I'm looking for a fic where during a mission Kirk does something so that the entire federation thinks he's a traitor (I forgot exactly what it is that he did!) Everyone turns on him (except for Spock, I think) and he's put in the brig, and goes on trial. Then it comes out that what he did ended up saving the universe. I'm pretty sure this is a Spock/Kirk fic.

Hello everyone,

I'm here because I'm losing my mind with desperation. I've hit the age old problem of not being able to tell if something I remember is from fanon or canon, because there's just so much of both in this fandom! And I've read so much that I can't distinguish between the two anymore!

I'm remembering this scene where Sulu is piloting the Enterprise (obv) and for some reason the ship is falling out of the sky for no particular reason (the gravitational pull or something), and they can't keep it in orbit automaticaly. So he has to sit at the helm and keep it steady in orbit, manually. And it's an insanely difficult thing to do, but he's a very skilled pilot (which is why Kirk fights for him?) and he managed to keep it perfectly steady in orbit.

And then he kind of zones out, and only zones back in a few hours later, and the shift has changed (I think) and everyone is kind of staring at him in awe because no one else would have been able to do what he's just done. And his hands are stiff and he doesn't remember anything but the focus, and it was just really impressive.

I can't remember if it was a fic? It could have been a book (of which I've read a fair few), but I have no clue and it's making me crazy.

Help?

I'm looking for a fic which I think took place directly after the movie when they're all still on the ship, but it might have been after they got back to earth. Kirk is about to report to the admiralty (either by vid conference or in person) and is still all full of nerves from the fight and he jumps McCoy in a room with the rest of the bridge crew standing right outside where they can hear what's going on.

It's been driving me crazy, but I can't remember the title or author or even where I read it so I hope someone here can identify it for me!

Hello, everyone!

So, I lost this epic fic that is probably super-famous and I hope you can help me find it :)

I'm pretty sure it was chaptered (in any case it was a long one) and Reboot. Kirk and Spock are ordered to report to a space base somewhere because in the last mission Kirk disobeyed protocol in order to save Spock's life (and it's not the first time it happens) and so Starfleet thinks they're in a relationship and they are going to trial for this. They are not together at the beginning, and I remember that one of the lawyers is an old girlfriend, or friend, of Jim; there is some kind of machine that can detect if you're lying and it's not used on Vulcans because they can't lie anyway (or so it seems); there is a lot of press and a Vulcan journalist and a bomb and poison and angst and love and Kirk being is adorable reckless self.

It was a wonderful story, so if someone has not read it already I greatly recommend it (provided that we manage to find it ;)

Hello Star Trek fandom! It's been awhile! Therefore, I am looking for some stuff to get me back into Jim/Bones fanfic. Specifically, there is this one Tarsus fic I cannot find for the life of me and all I remember of it is Jim taking language lessons. Which, I realize, may describe MANY Tarsus fics...so send me all of them. :-D

Alternatively, any long, angsty (with happy endings) Jim&Bones centric (romantic or platonic) fics are welcome. I uh...went a little cray with the tags...but I figured instead of listing everything I like here I could just do it there. :)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any good fics that involve sort of the fall-out of the whole Nero thing, maybe the media trying to make heroes out of the crew and Kirk in particular, or Starfleet not really knowing what to do with Kirk even after giving him is Captaincy. I really would like a focus on the crew sort of trying to deal with not only the tragedy but also possibly the fame they don't exactly want.

Kirk/Spock would be preferred, but gen, pre-slash, or other pairings are perfectly fine.

Am desperate to find a fic I read before that takes place post-Narada at the Academy and then at the start of the 5-year mission. I've searched A4, the KSArchive, and recs posts with no luck.

Points I remember:

-Spock is asked by Pike to follow Kirk around (to see what he's doing, decide whether to become his First Officer?), and observes Kirk being a BAMF in various ways, bonding with the crew, etc.
-Kirk has been quasi-forced into being part of Starfleet Black Ops/Intelligence, going on mysterious missions that leave him injured.
-As a result of his black ops work, one of the early Enterprise missions is for him to go undercover with a team to infiltrate/assassinate/something on another planet; the whole crew is worried and can't get him out of the mission/black ops.
-Kirk/Spock pairing

Possible parts of the plot:
-Kirk is being abused by a member of the team
-Kirk nearly dies/is gravely injured as a result of this mission, maybe betrayed by abuser?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello, I'm looking for a Kirk/Spock fic.

It's a reboot fic where Kirk and Spock are in an established relationship while Kirk is at the academy and Spock is a professor. Kirk cheats on the Kobayashi Maru like in the film and Spock still takes up charges. And there's a sequel to the fic was well.

I'm sorry that there isn't too much information. I haven't read the fic, just read the summary, and thought I bookmarked it, but apparently I didn't. :/

I'm looking for what I think is two different fics, although they may be different parts of the same fic.

1. The first one I'm thinking of has a scene wherein an ex of Jim's wants him back--primarily because he is now a captain--and at one point chases him from the gym to an apartment/dorm where he ends up cowering behind Spock. At a later point, he ends up fighting with the gold digger in front of a whole bunch of random people. I'm pretty sure the fic is K/S, and it takes place at least partly at the Starfleet Academy post-Narada. . When they come back, Scotty throws a fit because the new configuration in Engineering is dangerous -- Found in comments!

2. The second one I'm thinking of involves everyone being busy or gone on shore leave on Earth, and while they're gone, repairs and upgrades are being made to the ship. I'm not sure if someone messes up spectacularly or not and Scotty is upset, but I know that at one point Scotty does his usual anal checking of Engineering once he gets back on the ship and either he or someone else find a bomb down in Engineering. I think a plot to kill Jim (and possibly Spock as well) is uncovered because Jim's replicator is rigged, and I think there's one under his command chair as well. I know Kevin Riley is involved in some way, and I think the plot has something to do with Tarsus IV. That one is also K/S, I believe, post-Narada. It might even be set largely in the TOS 'verse, but I don't think it is. -- Found in comments!

Hi, guys :)

I have a few requests for the reboot universe that I hope someone can help me with:

1) Stories where the crew in general is shown to be the kickass they are. Perhaps the crew being the ones to rescue Kirk and Spock? Or in any way a story that focuses simply on just why it's the best of the best on the Enterprise. There are quite a few stories where it's mentioned that the Enterprise gets request for transfers on, so the whys and wherefores of that in a story would be nice. And perhaps stories where the crew is family to each other and risk everything for each other?

2) Any plotty stories out there, like the Reboot Duo of Seperis, or rhaegal's Evolution, or transtempts' Gravitational Forces that deals in the aftermath of reboot movie events? Preferably - like in those stories - where it's not the Romulans who are the troublemakers, but someone (completely) unexpected? And I really mean a direct influence of those events.

3) What do Klingons think of Vulcans in general and Spock in particular anyway? They value heroics, so once reboot Spock's suicide mission gets out, how would that influence what they think of him? Are there any stories where there's anything along those lines are mentioned?

4) I think it was in rhaegal's Evolution - there was a plot part, where many Vulcans, needing to be out there to protect, asked for transfers onto the Enterprise, not least because they saw Spock as a leader and someone to be respected and emulated. Any other stories where this is a part of the plot?

5) Can someone rec me a few stories that are Spock/Kirk, but where the Spock/Uhura relationship isn't devalued, Uhura not bashed or Kirk not described as not having changed his slutty ways even after the heavy responsibilities of being Captain? You know, just a respectful dealing with all parties involved?

I know this is a bit tall order, but I figure, some of these requests are probably hard to find, and this way, at least one or two of the requests should be found, right? Or am I wrong and these are all almost impossible to find?

Are there any fics where Starfleet helps/encourages the relationship between Kirk and Spock? Not because there is much Awww, they are adorable going around, but something along the line it's necessary for Starfleet to survive - what I mean is for example a meeting in a dark alley from members of Section 32 with the following dialog: You are tellin' me we've changed history 5 times, accused the temporal investigation dudes of messing all up and all the time the key to avoid the destruction of the universe was if Kirk and Spock are screwin' ?
